Expedia SDE-3 elimination — 2 DSA solved, still rejected

Hi everyone, I recently appeared for round 1 interview for SDE 3 position at expedia. It was an elimination round and I was asked 2 easy/medium questions.

I solved both the questions although needed some hint for 2nd one. Both questions passed all the test cases that were provided by the interviewer.
The interviewer was really helpful and he wished me good luck for next rounds. But alas I received the generic rejection mail today.
