I was referred by a LinkedIn connection, who isn't a friend. He posted that he is willing to refer candidates for SDE 2 openings at Expedia, I just responded to the post.

Recruiter reached out after 3-4 days stating that she'll be sending a link for an online assesment which I need to complete over the weekend.

Online Assesment :
2-3 questions, 1 or 1.5 hrs (don't remember exactly).
One was a dp question. Another one was a graph question.
I was able to solve both the questions.

Recruiter reached out after a few days saying I've been selected for onsites.

Onsite Round 1 :
A data structures round. I was asked 3 questions. They were related to variations relate to maximum path sum in a tree. The difficulty was increasing each time I solved a question.

Onsite Round 2 :
Another DS round. 3-4 questions were asked. I was able to answer all of them. Questions were mixed, related to graphs, trees, dp, etc.

Onsite Round 3 :
I was asked to design a meeting scheduler, discuss various approaches, LLD and HLD questions related to that.

Onsite Round 4 :
HM round. I was asked system design principles and a few behavioural questions.

Result: Passed the interview. Offer was given within a week.

Notes :

  1. Everybody was very nice and cordial during the interviews. The recruiter also was very responsive and never ghosted me out.
  2. Rounds aren't that difficult, basic leetcode questions should help
  3. Knowledge of SDLC and OS is required (specially in HM round).
  4. Perks are great at Expedia. Added my comp details and perk in another post (mentioned below)
