SE: friendly HR call then pair-coding (LeetCode easy-medium); explaining the solution idea helps even if unfinished

First interview was a meeting with an HR officer. She was very friendly and discussed the Software Engineer role, company culture, and salary expectation. I then got a pair-coding interview. He was also a friendly guy and gave me a problem like a LeetCode easy/medium type question. I was unable to complete the code in the given time but I explained my solution idea. Within 3 days I got the reply mail that I was not considered for the next interview. Overall a good interview experience.
