Interview

It was through on-campus placements and consisted of one long round where I was grilled on several aspects starting from DSA questions to project discussions and discussions on core CS topics. The interviewer was not only very calm and friendly but at the same time after the interview I felt that I got to learn many new things.

Question 1

I was first asked a question on DSA which was quite thought-provoking. We discussed all the approaches to the question starting from brute force to further optimizations based on hashmaps, prefix arrays, and binary search. Then a second DSA question that was a very common heap-based interview problem. Later, I was asked questions on DBMS indexes, types of indexing, underlying data structures used in them, their advantages disadvantages etc.
